7 Months

Sitting up like a big girl that I am

Look at my pretty dress...

Oh... who? me?

Your 7 month accomplishments include sitting up by yourself! Good job monkey! You can pick up  small objects and your grasp is very strong... just ask daddy, you try to pull all his arm hairs out. Guess what you don't like doing... rolling over! Not interested. You do it once in a while... but it's definitely not your favorite, you try scooting and you move in one spot and rotate around if you want to get to a particular toy, but I think crawling is still a few months away. We better start baby proofing soon!
You have developed quite a personality too. Just last week we noticed how you have a few of your favorite toys and I tried to pick you up while you were playing, and move you to a high chair for a meal, you got really mad that the toy was taken away from you. It was even worse when you were getting a bath... you just started playing with your bath toys, and you LOVE them! Daddy tried to take one out of your hands so that he can wash under your chin and you started screaming, you were really upset that once again your toy got taken away from you... I guess we have to be more careful now since you're a bit attached to some of them. Yesterday was a fun day, you were so talkative when I got home. The noises that you now make are more and more like baby talk. It actually sounded like "Dada", so I am not sure if we can say that it's your first word... but it certainty seems that way. I'll try and catch you in the act and get a video of it. Also you find it very funny when we go "Boo". I would look to the side and then quickly turn my head towards you and  go "Boo", you start laughing, then I turn away and you stop, then I repeat it a bunch of times, and every time you laugh. Sometimes you even get startled but you're not scared you just laugh harder, it's so adorable. We also took you to the pool twice over 4th of July weekend. You loved it! You kicked and splashed, it was a blast! I think we'll have to get a small kiddie pool for the back yard so I can take you all the time. I think you enjoyed it as much as the baths.
Here are your 7 month pictures that I took. I can photograph you all day long!

Grass? What's that?

What a curious little baby you are. I wanted to take some pictures of you on the grass and I had such a hard time trying to get you to look up, you were mesmerized by grass and of course you tried to eat it too. You didn't like falling on it though, that happened once or twice while you were sitting and you started crying each time.

On another note you had a pretty strange week. On last Tuesday you ran a fever of 100.2 and didn't eat very well. The next day the fever was gone, but you still didn't eat as well as you usually do. I thought it was teething because you did drool a lot that day, but no signs of teeth yet. Then Saturday you started coughing. At first I thought it was just a fake cough that you do sometimes for attention, but later in the day you coughed a lot more and it didn't sound like a dry cough, also your nose was a bit stuffy. You still slept through the night, and there was no fever. Then two nights later you woke up 3 times, twice you went back to sleep with a pacifier and the 3rd time daddy brought you in our bed and you slept soundly for another hour, until I had to wake you up to feed you. May be it's because you got out of your swaddle... yes, you're still being Swaddled... you just won't sleep well until you are, hopefully you'll get out of that habit soon. I think you're getting much better, so it wasn't too terrible for your first little sickness. I wonder where you picked it up...

Sitting up

It's official, you are sitting up... well at least for a few minutes. When I get you to focus on a favorite toy of yours... like the book that plays music, you are able to sit up for quite some time. Yay, good job munchkin!

Legoland and Padre Game

You went to your 2nd Padre game. This time it was warm out and you were big enough to wear your really cute pink Padre's outfit that our friends got for you before you were even born. We got so many comments while we were walking at the stadium, people just couldn't resist. I think the pink hat just topped it off!
Also we went to Legoland with you for the first time, and it happened to be on your 6 month b-day :). You had a good time, I am sure we'll come back when you can actually appreciate it more. You did go on your first ride on the little train, it was really cute. It was the longest time that we had you out. Your naps were super short but you did great, didn't fuss too much.

Happy Father's day... last Sunday

We had a full day on this Father's day Sunday. It was Sascha's first time on grandpa Dave's boat. You did very well, took a short nap once and was pretty happy the rest of the time.
Message from Sascha: Happy Father's day daddy! Here is a little something that I made for you... ok well mommy helped a little, but it was all my idea!

6 Months

It's been 6 months since you came into this world. We went for your 6 month check up and here are your stats:

Weight: 14 lbs - 12%
Height: 26.75 inches - 82%
Head Circ: 16 inches - 6%
I think it's pretty funny that your height is in the 82nd percentile while your weight is in the 12th. You seem to have quite a few little rolls... on your legs mostly and you have a double chin. The doctor was very happy about your growth so you're doing just fine. We are introducing more and more solid foods. You are now on rice cereal and oat cereal (you prefer oat) and you've tried carrots and sweet potatoes and this weekend you tried your first fruit - apple sauce and you loved it! So yay, i think we'll try squash and pears next and see how you do with those.
No signs of teeth yet, but everything you grab goes into one place and that's your mouth. Sometimes you drool a ton, and other times you don't. You are so curious about everything, as soon as you see something you reach for it and play with it. You are finally exploring the jumperoo, moving all around to different little stations and turning and touching the little toys, it seems to be a lot of fun. The one thing you don't love doing yet is rolling, you do it, but not all the time, so I think I need to be better at encouraging you to roll. Your baby push ups are definitely getting stronger and you get higher up off the ground. No real signs of crawling yet, just inching up a little if you have something to push off from. You can sit up by yourself for a few seconds, but you're not too steady yet. You pull up to a sitting position very well with just holding on to our fingers. It's been so much fun to play and interact with you. What a difference just a few weeks makes. When we read, you start pulling on the book (once again trying to get a part of it into your mouth) and you look at the pictures and sometimes even make noises. So cute! Oh and of course when you grab your feet, your toes go right into your mouth.
Here is your 6 month picture. Your hair is getting long, this little clip didn't stay on too long, but it was so darn cute! In the other picture you're holding your two feel as if you were up in the air doing a little cheerleader routine... haha
